Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The Department of Teaching and Learning, Policy and Leadership, working with the Center for Mathematics Education is searching for an Assistant Clinical Professor, the selected candidate will be responsible for a combination of the following: teaching mathematics education and mathematics graduate courses in an outreach program that can provide participants with a Master’s of Education in Middle School Mathematics; teaching mathematics methods courses across different certification programs (elementary, middle, secondary); providing service to the field of mathematics education; and leadership in the development and improvement of middle school and secondary undergraduate and graduate degree programs. This position may involve some teaching with the Mathematics Department. This is a one-year, renewable Clinical Assistant Professor faculty position.

Minimum Qualifications:

• An earned doctorate or have doctorate by August 2019 from an accredited university in mathematics education, or a closely related field, with coursework and experience in mathematics education;


• Strong preparation in mathematics;
• Experience teaching in K-12 settings;
• Experience educating pre-service and/or in-service teachers.
• A commitment to urban education and diverse populations, including either experience in urban settings or course work in urban education; and
• Experience with helping schools meet the mathematics learning needs of English Language Learners and/or other historically marginalized students.
• Experience working collaboratively with local schools
