Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The College of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences at the University of Maryland, College Park is seeking to fill the Andrew and Mary Balo and Nicholas and Susan Simon Endowed Chair in the life sciences. The chair holder will have a proven track record of research excellence in the life sciences focused on human health. This is a tenured academic appointment at the full professor level in one of the life sciences departments in CMNS, with a possible joint appointment in an interdisciplinary unit, with a 9-month salary.

Minimum Qualifications:

Scholars with a highly acclaimed research program in the life sciences with an impact on human health. Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in the life sciences or a related discipline and experience in and commitment to teaching and mentoring, including working with students and groups from underrepresented backgrounds.
