Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

Manages all UMPD Database Systems. Assists with UMPD IT operations and strategic planning.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Database Administration/ Management or related IT field is required.

Minimum Five (5) years’ experience in database administration.

Three (3) years’ experience administering SQL Server 2008 R2 databases and higher

Two (2) years’ experience with database monitoring & diagnostic tools.

Two (2) years’ experience broad-based IT experience with technical knowledge of network, hardware, storage, operating systems, and applications.

One (1) year experience with SQL Server database development/programming.

Preferences:

Two years’ experience using Oracle Database Servers

Two years’ experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory and disk configurations

Two years’ experience using SQL Reporting, Analysis and Integration Services

Supervision or lead experience

Physical Demands

Must be able to function in a fast-paced environment. The position requires occasional lifting of computer hardware.

Employee is considered On Call for critical Public Safety Systems needs (to include 911 center operations).
