Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The purpose of this position is to support the research team in evaluation of the effectiveness of the STARTALK summer language program and to conduct other research on language education, primarily in the K-12 education space. The GA will initially be hired for the Spring 2018 semester, and there is a possibility of renewal dependent on future funding and satisfactory performance.
Responsibilities include:
• Contribute to the design of research projects
• Collect and analyze assessment, survey, and program data
• Synthesize findings
• Report results in oral and written presentations
• Collaborate with colleagues to plan conferences, workshops, and meetings
• Travel and support STARTALK conferences in the spring and fall
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be a current University of Maryland, College Park graduate student. Experience with coursework in K-12 education and assessment, coursework in statistical analysis, experience analyzing data, from standardized assessments. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
