Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The Hate/Bias Response Program Manager will lead and facilitate a team of multi-disciplinary professionals providing support to individuals, groups, and communities affected by hate and bias. The Response Manager will collaborate on educational and outreach efforts to prevent and mitigate incidents of hate and bias on campus. Ideal candidates will have the ability to establish and maintain strong interpersonal relationships with students, faculty, alumni, staff, and local community members.

Minimum Qualifications:

● Masters degree.
● 3 years experience in counseling services as a professional, perferably in crisis intervention or in higher education.
● Expertise in higher ed Hate/Bias prevention programming, and/or training and education, or hate/bias reasearch and scholarship.
● Strong commitment to, and understanding of, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Capable of interacting with media and serving as a spokesperson for ODI.
● Demonstrated problem solving, critical analysis, initiative, judgement and decision-making skills.
● Experience with diversity training, leadership development, group facilitation, community building/organizing.

Preferences:

● Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or other advanced degrees related to the mental health field and counseling.
● 5+ years work experience in higher education crisis intervention role.
● Public relations, communications, social media experience.
● Demonstrated ability to envision, identify, develop and implement systems, policies, training and programs to create a healthy and inclusive educational environment post-incident.

Physical Demands

Work is performed in an office environment Must have the ability to travel to meetings on and off campus. Must have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; and, extensive reading.
