Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

This position will oversee all financial, personnel and planning activities and assist the Director with special projects within the Office of International Affairs, including its reporting units: Education Abroad, Office of China Affairs and the Office of International Student and Scholar Services. The Associate Director serves as backup for the Director in his/her absence.

Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s Degree.

EXPERIENCE

5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in budgeting, accounting, finance and human resource management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to organize, analyze and present data effectively. Ability to multi-task ongoing projects. Ability to manage teams and serve multiple clients at one time.

Preferences:

Masters degree in business, accounting or related field. Previous work experience at the University of Maryland, College Park. 3-5 years experience in international education. Experience using data base applications, pivot tables and macros to generate reports. Experience with BPM. Experience with paying foreign vendors, foreign currency and international finance systems.

Physical Demands

Incumbent will work in regular office environment. No unusual environmental conditions or physically demanding activities.
