Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The purpose of the position is to provide executive-level professional assistance to the Director of Operations and the Associate Provost for Academic Affairs. The position also provides administrative support for regular reviews of deans and senior staff in addition to various Provost’s Office committees, task forces, projects, and initiatives. The position will work with other staff to complete tasks associated with general office operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience, and one year of experience related to the responsibilities of the position. The successful candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills and a demonstrated aptitude for cultivating good working relationships with people at all levels. Attention to detail essential, including proficiency with editing and proofreading. He or she will have extensive experience with Microsoft Office programs.

Preferences:

UMD campus or higher education experience preferred.

Physical Demands

Work is performed in a busy office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to lift and carry small parcels, packages, and other items.

May be required to walk short distances, deliver and pickup materials, and travel to meetings on and off campus.
