Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The duties and responsibilities of this position are to manage the daily operations of the Office of Student Financial Aid. The Assistant Director will serve as an active member of a service oriented, dynamic and student centered team; coordinate assigned processes by providing financial counseling for both current and prospective students, as well as their parents, in all areas of education financing; responsible for Title IV analysis by performing reviews of financial aid utilizing both federal, state and institutional needs analysis and making professional decisions based on established policy (federal, state and institutional).

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required. Must have the ability to work independently, but to also contribute positively to a team approach method. Demonstrate experience in providing superior client services, excellent written and oral communication skills, and interpersonal skills; and knowledge to assist in multiple areas throughout the office. In addition, the candidate must have the ability to work in a fast-paced work environment, to organize and to prioritize multiple tasks. Because of the nature of the data in relation to student academic records, the candidate must have knowledge of Federal Student Aid, packaging algorithms, and needs analysis; and the ability to effectively operate standard electronic tools: Excel, Microsoft Word, etc.

Minimum 3 years working in management or financial aid, must have experience within multiple aspects of financial aid business process such as awarding, repackaging, return of Title IV funds, financial literacy, verification, counseling, the Federal Direct Lending program, employee supervision, professional judgment and FAFSA eligibility issues.


Experience in customer services, public speaking, electronic presentations.

Physical Demands

Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to lift and small carry parcels, packages and other items, to walk short distances, and drive a vehicle to deliver and pick up materials.
