Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The Director, Alumni Professional Networks, will manage all aspects of a program that will advance alumni in their careers and help them grow professionally. The Director is responsible for the for the planning and implementation of strategies, programs, and projects that increase alumni participation and engagement in industry-based networks, career advising programs, and lifelong learning opportunities.

The Director will develop a strategic plan that targets mid-career and senior-level professionals, providing an essential service to alumni not currently offered by the University. The Director will create and implement a program that provides value to alumni seeking to advance their career which in turn advances the reputation of the University.

The Director will create opportunities for alumni to connect by industry through online and in-person programs and events. The goal of these programs will be to foster collaboration and business opportunity among alumni.

The Director will develop and implement a strategic plan to create an alumni advising program through online and in-person initiatives. In addition, the Director will serve as primary point of contact for the student Career Center and create an active alumni job board.

The Director will manage a lifelong learning and professional development program for alumni at all career stages and create a segmented marketing strategy. Working closely with campus partners, the Director will create and manage a webinar series, online learning program, and in-person events to support alumni in achieving their personal and professional goals.

This position requires availability to work evenings and/or weekends as necessary. Some travel (plane, train, other) required up to 30%.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education (include licenses, certifications, etc.):
Bachelor’s degree.

Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience working in alumni relations, career services, marketing, event management, program development, relationship management, or related field.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups, manage concurrent priorities, think strategically, and set and achieve both long- and short-term goals in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to manage programs, events, and marketing to increase participation.
Strong organizational, interpersonal, writing, and oral communication skills.
Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite and Google Drive.
Ability to work occasional evening and weekends.
Ability to travel approximately 30% time locally and nationally.

Preferences:

Master’s degree.
Experience in building strategic programs from ground up.
An understanding and appreciation of the values of a public higher education institution and ability to articulate it to internal and external constituencies.
Strong experience with program budgeting and strategic planning.
Prior experience with an institution of higher education.
