Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The Director of Diversity Training and Education leads and is responsible for the success of ODI’s Diversity Training and Education programming. ODI’s Diversity Training and Education serves University of Maryland students, staff, faculty, alumni, and, where appropriate, the broader College Park community. Based in principles of Social Justice, Diversity Training and Education promotes, supports, and develops inclusive excellence in all aspects of the University.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, Women’s Studies, or other field related to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

-5 years’ experience in designing, conducting, and implementing diversity and inclusion training and education
-3 years’ experience supervisory experience

-Knowledge of the principles and best practices in diversity education and training.
-Knowledge of diversity challenges, opportunities, initiatives and programs in higher education.
-Ability to lead teams or committees.
-Ability to communicate effectively, orally, and in writing.
-Ability to exemplify human relations skills with a highly diverse community of students, staff and faculty in an inclusive and affirmative manner.


-Ph.D. or other terminal degree in any field
-Preference for experience within the context of higher education
