Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

Reporting to the Director of the University Health Center, the Assistant Director of the UHC for CARE Prevention (AD) is responsible for the managing the coordination, development, implementation and evaluation of the University’s comprehensive sexual assault prevention plan. The Assistant Director of the UHC for CARE Prevention will establish and chair the Sexual Assault Prevention Committee, a campus-wide committee charged with the implementation of the University’s sexual assault prevention plan. As chair, the Assistant Director of the UHC for CARE Prevention will lead the development of strategic plans, goals and measurable objectives for sexual assault prevention programs and services for the university. This position will manage the committee’s activities; present detailed updates on the prevention plan progress to the University Senate and University Administration; and ensure that updates are publicly available through a centralized website.

In collaboration with key campus stakeholders including the Office of Civil Rights and Sexual Misconduct and central University Communications and Marketing, the AD will manage new and on-going prevention programming, training and communications, as well as assess, evaluate and align existing program activities. This position will oversee the completion of required programming activities as presented in the sexual assault prevention plan and will work closely with the Sexual Assault Prevention Committee to ensure implementation of the plan.

This position is considered essential for health related campus emergencies.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Public Health or equivalent.

5-7 years of experience working with CDC Socio-Ecological Model of prevention including violence and sexual assault prevention. Five years of demonstrated experience developing and implementing prevention programming.

Excellent coalition building skills. Exceptional leadership skills. Strong facilitation and communication skills. Highly organized with the ability to represent and hold multiple perspectives at one time. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion and work effectively with students, faculty, and administrative constituencies.

Preferences:

Preferences: Expertise in gender based violence programming. Experience working with marginalized populations. Ability to manage project activities and facilitate the success of multidisciplinary teams including supervising staff, establishing, balancing and adjusting priorities, and establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.

Demonstrated program evaluation experience.

Physical Demands

Must be able to work evenings and weekends as necessary. Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment. Will require travel to campus meetings and ability to transport supplies and meeting materials.
