Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The University of Maryland, Robert H. Smith School of Business is seeking an experienced Web Developer to assist in the transformation of our Schools’ website. This position reports to the Assistant Dean, Masters Programs Office, and is also responsible for developing web applications in support of the Schools’ academic, research, and administrative programs. The qualified candidate must possess a strong understanding of project management methodologies, knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) framework, and technical capabilities to develop, design and implement software solutions in a large complex enterprise environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
5+ years experience using Drupal including module customization, integration, and development. 3+ years software development experience with web-based development tools and technologies (Linux, PHP, Apache, Google Search, Web 2.0/3.0, MySQL, JQuery, Javascript, HTML5, CSS). 3+ years experience performing complex analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation
Knowledge of and experience applying SDLC framework
Strong, leadership, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills

Preferences:

Experience managing and/or performing complex analysis, design, development, testing and implementation of web-based and legacy systems on a variety of technical platforms
Mobile and/or responsive web design
Graphics manipulation for the web (Photoshop, Illustrator)
Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and Programming Language Application Expertise
Agile Development experience

Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.
