Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The AOSC Research & Proposal Coordinator will be responsible for working directly with Faculty on proposal submissions including searching for funding opportunities, creating complex budgets, review of guidelines to ensure compliance with proposal requirements, routing and final submission.
Will review account status with the Business Manager on a monthly basis.
Responsible for financial forecasting with all PIs to ensure adequate funding is available and to plan accordingly in it’s absence.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree is required.
• Three to five years experience in research and/or financial administration in an academic institution.
• Must be familiar with creating budgets, developing proposals, and federal contract/grant compliance.
• Experience working with electronic proposal submission programs, Grants.gov, NSPIRES and FastLane.
• Must possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to execute multiple assignments under specific time constraints.
•Experienced user of COEUS, BA4 and Excel

Preferences:

•Completion of ORA Certificate Program
•Working knowledge of University applications such as COEUS, PHR, ARES, KFS, ELF

Physical Demands

• Sedentary work.
• Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
• The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
• Must be able to work quickly and effectively under stress and pressure.
