Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

To provide expertise in web development in Drupal, Joomla, and other
web technologies for the Joint Quantum Institute (JQI) and related groups managed by the JQI public affairs office.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record working with
customers to meet their needs and a good eye for design. The position will involve maintaining web sites in Drupal as well as other technologies. There will also be development work in both Drupal and other frameworks related to ongoing projects in the Physics Department, Joint Quantum Institute and Joint Center for Quantum Information and Computer Science.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years of experience in web development; must have advanced CSS/HTML knowledge; and at least one year of experience with Drupal including
theming.

Must have a desire to keep up to date with the latest standards and techniques, as well as evolving web technologies.

Must possess the ability to work with technical and non-technical people,
both individually and in groups, and possess excellent oral and written
communication skills. Must be well organized, detail-oriented, and creative.

Preferences:

Experience with HTML5, Node.js and other JS frameworks preferred. Familiarity with Joomla, Linux, and Apache/PHP/MySQL is desired.

Physical Demands

Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Repetitive motion. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
