Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The Robert H. Smith seeks to hire a Program Management Specialist, to support the Student Services needs in our Master’s Programs Office (MPO). Incumbent will supervise daily operations and provide front desk support for MPO.

Incumbent will provide a high level of customer service on behalf of the Office as the first point of contact for visitors in person and on the phone. In addition, the Program Management Specialist will manage the department purchasing, budget, and will assist with event management as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors degree AND Two years experience in administrative staff work. Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.

Preferences:

Excellent communication skills with attention to detail with experience in budgeting, payroll, and purchasing.

Physical Demands

Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.

Must have the ability to walk short distances.

Must have ability to help set up for events- this would include light lifting less than 30lbs. Ability to work effectively in an open office environment with frequent interruptions (i.e. phone calls and guests).
