Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The Department of Sociology invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position, pending budgetary approval. We are seeking scholars with innovative research programs and a commitment to outstanding teaching. Areas of specialization are open. The University of Maryland is located in Prince Georges County, near Washington, DC, accessible through the College Park/UM metro stop.
