Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The Maryland Institute for Applied Environmental Health of the School of Public Health was recently awarded a Cooperative Agreement with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). We are looking for a Phlebotomist to perform a variety of sample collections and study visits in accordance with the study protocol. The Phlebotomist will be responsible for assisting with the clinical operation of the research study. This will involve:

- Coordinating subject appointments
-collecting blood, nasal, and throat samples
-preparing and transporting samples to the lab
-consenting human subjects
-participating in weekly meetings
-communicate protocol issues with Clinical Research Manager
-support clinic staff
-other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent experience. Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency. Completion of an approved phlebotomy training course and one year experience as a phlebotomist.

Preferences:

Experience working in a research and/or academic setting.

Physical Demands

Office environment. Must have visual acuity and be able to read computer monitors; able to hear and communicate verbally; able to sit at desk for extended periods; frequently lift and/or move up to 10 lbs.
