Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

A position is available immediately for a Faculty Specialist to contribute to our multidisciplinary studies aimed at elucidating the molecular basis of chick neural crest cell development. The Specialist will conduct research, assist in the training of undergraduate and graduate students, and take part in the management of the laboratory of Dr. Lisa Taneyhill at the University of Maryland. Laboratory skills should include the ability to perform various molecular biology and biochemical assays, such as recombinant DNA/cloning; DNA, RNA, and/or protein blotting; and/or immunohistochemistry. Experience with microscopy, chick embryology, and tissue culture is highly desirable. For more information on the lab, please see http://www.ansc.umd.edu/people/lisa-taneyhill.

Minimum Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in a related field and prior laboratory research experience is essential. Fluency in spoken and written English is required. This title cannot support J1 visa employment. Only persons who are legally able to work in the US will be considered.

Preferences:

An advanced degree (Research Masters) in Developmental, Molecular and/or Cell Biology is preferred.
