Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The Robert H. Smith School of Business is seeking a graduate assistant for the Smith Undergraduate Program Office at the College Park campus. This position will support Smith School undergraduate recruitment and admissions education events/activities under the Associate Director. This is an evolving position with
infrastructure in place, but room to grow.

Responsibilities: The Graduate Assistant will take a proactive role in managing and delivering information and events
for prospective Smith students, at the high school and collegiate level.
-Assist with managing logistics, marketing, and evaluation for Smith Undergraduate Program recruitment events and programs, ranging from university-sponsored open houses, small group information sessions, and walk-in appointments.
-Manage the Smith Admissions email account.
-Support web presence of Smith admissions, ranging from updating school website to social media channels.
-Responsible for marketing material inventory.
-Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

An exceptional candidate will possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Must have public speaking experience, along with some event planning and/or programming experience. Demonstrated history in Microsoft Office, Google Drive, and Database Management competencies.

Must be enrolled in a Graduate Program at the University of Maryland, College Park. Enrollment in a Department of Counseling, Higher Education, and Special Education graduate program within the College of Education preferred.

Appointment: The 20-hour per week schedule typically occurs between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.; however, participation in evening or weekend activities will be required.

Benefits include the current University of Maryland graduate assistant salary, tuition remission, and health benefits for a 12-month assistantship.
