Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The Office of Research Administration (ORA) is responsible for facilitating the administration of proposal submissions and award management of extramural funding for research, training, and other scholarly activities of campus faculty and staff. We are seeking an energetic Graduate Assistant to join our dynamic staff.

This position would provide general office support with primary service to the ORA office. Duties would include answering telephones at the reception desk, logging in proposals, processing Organized Research Unit/Significant Project Designation requests and XX accounts, serve as backup support for Facilities &Administrative and Intellectual Property waiver request processing, and other general office administrative duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be enrolled as a full‐time graduate student at the University of Maryland, College Park.

Ability to perform duties with attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong interpersonal skills and adaptability in this position are crucial. Must be able to communicate appropriately and effectively with faculty and staff both in writing and verbally. Excellent organizational skills are needed to be successful in this position. Applicants should have expertise with general office software such as the Adobe Acrobat Suite; Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel). The individual must be able to work in the office for 20 hours/week.

Physical Demands

Sedentary work performed in a normal office setting. Ability to travel on campus as needed to delivery materials.
