Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The purpose of the position is to participate in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of mental health disorders. Duties include counseling, evaluation and medication management. The person in this position is considered an essential employee for emergency conditions.

Minimum Qualifications:

Certified Nurse Practitioner with training in Mental Health. Licensed by the Board of Nursing in the state of Maryland.
Experience working in an outpatient mental health setting, utilizing a team approach to patient care. Experience working with a diverse patient population.
Ability to work in a team oriented adolescent/adult mental health setting providing evaluations, therapy, consultations and medication management.
Ability to master the electronic medical record documentation procedures for a timely, accurate and comprehensive mental health note.
Skilled in use of various mental health therapeutic pharmaceuticals, with knowledge of side effect profiles, and the appropriate pre-screening and monitoring required for patient safety.
Excellent interpersonal skills that will promote excellent provider-patient interaction.
Ability to provide culturally sensitive care.
