The Center for Advanced Transportation Technology (CATT) Laboratory, at the University of Maryland’s A. James Clark School of Engineering, is the leading transportation information analysis, visualization, and user interface design laboratory in the country. We provide an integrated product suite of situational awareness tools for emergency managers, and also provide leading edge data analytics products for transportation planners and consultants. The CATT Lab is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Software Technical Lead.
|Position Summary/Purpose of Position:||
Reposted. The Software Technical Lead will lead a team of 5-7 professional software developers, and 5-10 software development interns in an agile development organization. This position requires a strong problem solver who is capable of understanding the problem, performing analysis and trade studies to offer potential solutions, and then breaking the selected solution down into individual tasks and delegating those tasks to the team members for implementation.
Primary Job Responsibilities
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
This position requires a strong problem solver who is capable of understanding the problem, performing analysis and trade studies to offer potential solutions, and then breaking the selected solution down into individual tasks and delegating those tasks to the team members for implementation.
Candidates should be strong developers, especially in regard to developing architecture. Candidates should be organized, highly motivated, and have a focus on innovation. Candidates should enjoy working in a fast paced work environment that requires frequent interaction with a diverse group of employees as well as internal and external customers.
